UCSD Medical Center – Hillcrest has 11 OR suites where state-of-the-art cutting edge techniques and instruments/equipment are used to support the high acuity of critically ill patients you only find in a Level I Trauma Center, a Regional Burn Center, and Major Organ Transplant Program (Kidney, Pancreas, Heart and Lung). We perform 6,000 cases annually. Minimally invasive spinal procedures are featured at both hospitals.
UCSD Medical Center – Thornton, La Jolla specializes in minimally invasive procedures using the da Vinci® robotic system. Our 7 ORs handle procedures in support of: Orthopedic Allograft, Bone marrow Harvesting, Epilepsy Center, Parkinson’s Research, Major Spine Procedures and PTE Program. 4,700 cases are performed annually in the large and ambient OR suites.
Ideal candidates for both facilities will have a valid CA RN license with BCLS certification. CNOR preferred. Recent operating room experience as a circulating nurse, with scrub nurse experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are essential.
Outpatient Surgery – Hillcrest
One of our three new centers of excellence, an expanded state-of-the-art Outpatient Health Center offers a full range of primary and specialty care services, including imaging and surgery centers. An outstanding team treats a wide variety of cases including orthopedic, hand, urology, and vascular using state-of-the-art technology. The unit works four 10-hour shifts, weekends and holidays off and no call. Outpatient surgery opportunities also exist at the Shiley Eye Center.
Ideal candidates are OR Nurses with at least two years experience.
